Modeling Biocomplexity
We are investigating static and dynamic complexity in ecosystems due to
environmental and temporal variations. The modeling paradigm we use is a
network of autocatalytic reactions in a network of reactors. Of
particular interest are conditions for coexistence and biodiversity in
ecosystems; theoretical basis of extinction pressures; and development
of control and harvesting strategies for managed ecosystems.

Agents-Based Monitoring and Control
We are working on the monitoring and control of microreactor networks
using a multi-agents paradigm. Distributing the decision making
capabilities to multiple agents enables us to study stability,
scalability, performance, and robustness of the system in the context of
each sub-task and the synergy created by them.
