Our internationally recognized faculty conducts research on a wide range of subjects and we welcome collaboration with business. On campus and in collaboration with national research laboratories and industry, IIT faculty and students are on the leading edge of discovery and problem solving.

Research Centers
Faculty and students engage in research across a range of disciplines through centers, programs, and institutes. Businesses are invited to participate or access research results.

Faculty Research and Expertise Database
To identify a matching interest, search the IIT Faculty and Senior Staff Expertise Database, a comprehensive listing of IIT faculty and senior staff members, their contact information, and information about their research interests.

The Office of Technology Transfer (TT) and Intellectual Property(IP)
TT/IP supports all IIT efforts to build and sustain relationships with corporations and other external organizations. The office coordinates the process of identifying, evaluating, protecting, marketing, and licensing all IIT inventions and copyrightable material.

University Technology Park at IIT
University Technology Park At IIT (UTP) includes state-of-the-art facilities designed to help propel a broad spectrum of technological and scientific innovations capable of changing the world. Ideally situated in the heart of Chicago, it connects clients with the outstanding research faculties and resources at Illinois Institute of Technology and across the city.

Interprofessional Projects (IPRO)
The IPRO Program engages multidisciplinary teams of students in semester-long undergraduate projects based on real-world topics from sponsors including corporations, entrepreneurial ventures, government agencies, and non-profit organizations.

Student Innovations
At the Center for Professional Development, students apply their knowledge to solve real-life problems. If your organization has a potential real-life project related to information technology (IT), please contact Dr. Bob Carlson at 630.682.6002 or carlson@iit.edu.
